Eyes, Perception and Learning

Beginning at infancy, learning for all human beings, occurs 80 to 90 percent through the eyes.
Often overlooked, is that in the presence of good eyesight, a child or adult may not process information from the eyes to the brain in an efficient manner.

Slowness of focusing, Concentration problems, poor teaming abilities, making frequent mistakes, and a lack of integration between the eyes, can lead to slow reading, lack of understanding, and poor learning performance.

Fortunately, there is a process called vision therapy that has for more than 50 years offered people of all ages the possibility to enhance the abilities for the eyes, brain and mind to better cooperate. Dr. Kaplan is a leading world authority on this topic having had double vision, dyslexia and severe learning problems himself. Using vision therapy, Dr. Kaplan overcame the need to wear prism and reduced his double vision to less than 3 percent of the time.

By combining his Board Certification in Vision Therapy with his expertise in Special Education, he has come up with a very useful approach to help children and adults increase their learning potential as well as increase visual attention abilities.
